Message from the Director
This year we are excited about our partnership with the New Jersey State Police and the Fairfield New Jersey Police Department. Members from these two departments have been to many of our past conferences and wholeheartedly support NCWP. The hard work and dedication of these organizations have made it possible for the National Center for Women and Policing to present an outstanding agenda and again, recognize the significant contributions that women bring to law enforcement.
Through this challenging leadership program, participants will explore how women leaders can use their vision and influence to increase the numbers of women in law enforcement and make significant reforms in their departments. One of the highlights of this year’s conference is the presentation by the Police Service of Northern Ireland. Assistant Chief Constable Judith Gillespie, the highest-ranking woman, will discuss policing in Northern Ireland after the 1998 Peace Agreement and what reforms have been implemented including the “Gender Impact Program.”
We are expecting approximately 300 women from federal, state and local law enforcement in attendance. This conference is cause for celebration too as this is our tenth leadership training conference. We are inviting all of you who have been to every conference to receive special recognition. Please let us know when you register. We appreciate all the support from our past conference attendees and hope to see you again this year.
          Margie Moore
          NCWP Director
