On-Site Assistance Programs
The National Center for Women & Policing provides on-site technical
assistance to law enforcement agencies seeking to increase the
numbers of women they recruit and hire. NCWP staff works with
each individual agency to review and analyze its current recruitment
and selection practices and policies, identify obstacles to hiring
and retaining women, and recommend and establish programs to increase
the numbers of women at all ranks.
As part of the on-site assitance, NCWP also conducts surveys
of senior personnel in law enforcement agencies to assess the
working conditions and identify issues of concern to women officers,
including sexual harassment and discrimination against women in
police agencies.
